Welcome to Travels in Our Twenties, a travel blog dedicated to making international travel accessible to young people who want to see the world.
About Me
My name is Francesca, I am 23, and I have already traveled to 40+ countries. I won’t pretend that traveling widely and extensively at a young age is easy– finances, limited prior travel experience, inflexible professional obligations, and the seeming unattainability of international opportunities can all be barriers. However, through my various travel experiences, I have learned numerous tips and tricks to circumvent these barriers. This travel blog is my way of sharing what I have learned!
Blog Themes
Travels in Our Twenties will show you both where to go and how to go there.
“Where to go” blog posts will help you plan your trips. Drawing from my experiences traveling on five of the seven continents, these posts will share itineraries that highlight some of the best of what your destination has to offer. I will provide insights into must-do activities, must-try foods, best places to meet other young people, the general vibe of traveling there and more. These posts will always begin by highlighting what each destination is known for, so, even if you aren’t quite decided on where you want to go, you can quickly get an idea of which destinations sound most ideal to you!
Meanwhile, my “how to go” blog posts will answer the bigger questions we all ask ourselves when we decide we want to travel such as “where should I go and who should I go with?”, “how can I cut costs to make this trip affordable?”, or “how do I get this trip out of the groupchat?” Further, these posts will illuminate how to simplify travel despite circumstances that may, admittedly, complicate it such as traveling solo (especially as a woman), traveling while young and on a budget, or traveling while working or studying full-time.
Blog Mission
When I graduated highschool at age 18, I never thought I would travel to upwards of 30 countries before my college graduation. But four years later, here we are! However, these travel opportunities didn’t just fall into my lap – it took a lot of strategizing, research, navigating travel challenges, and being willing to embrace the unfamiliar. I took a leap and learned a lot along the way, and I hope that what this blog can help you take the same leap and go wherever you desire!
